I can feel the energy returning to my body
“After about one week of taking the Q10 capsules I could feel a huge difference. I sleep much less and have energy to enjoy life again,” says 23-year old Alan Piccini, who has been suffering from extreme fatigue and muscle aches ever since he was a child.
Just being able to go to the pizzeria with my friends again and not having to sleep the day away is such a big improvement,” says 23-year old Alan Piccini, who has been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome since the age of eight years. He used to be tied to his bed, literally, and would easily spend 18 hours a day on sleeping but now, after his doctor told him about coenzyme Q10, his condition has improved.
A dark-brown capsule about the size of a peanut with an energy-enhancing, vitamin-like substance has enabled Alan to get through the day much easier.
“I felt the difference after about one week of using this supplement. I don’t sleep as much now and I am able to go out with my friends to the pizzeria and generally feel much more active,” Alan says.
Used to suffer
Thinking back, Alan recalls how unhappy he was with his life. He had symptoms like pearls on a string and could do absolutely nothing to alleviate them. “I had constant muscle aches and I felt pressure on my chest, as if I could not breathe. Also, I had headaches and nearly always had a slight fever,” he reveals. Alan’s symptoms eventually got that severe, he was forced to leave school. “I could not stay on my feet for more than 10 minutes at a time, and I was frustrated that I could not do sports and go out with my friends,” he says.
Saved by Q10
Until about four years ago, when Alan was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, he had tried all kinds of medicine, natural products, and homeopathic remedies. He had visited different doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists who wrote out prescriptions for all kinds of psychiatric medicine – but to no avail. In fact, the drugs just made things worse.
”At one point, my doctor gave me carnitine sachets but I got nausea from them. Then, he told me to try Q10 and that made all the difference in the world. I could feel an improvement after a short while,” says Alan.
“I no longer have the same muscle aches, they are far less noticeable and they only occur occasionally. Also, my endurance has increased a lot. My doctor is very satisfied with my progress, and my family is thrilled that I feel so much better and am more active.”
A better life
Alan is not cured of his condition and may never be. He still takes a few medical drugs for improving the nerve signalling between his brain and muscles, a standard therapy for chronic fatigue syndrome. However, the Q10 supplement is what has made the major difference. He feels like he has a life at last and is able to look at the future with a more positive attitude.
"I am still unable to engage in sports but I am much more active and generally feel a lot better. That in itself means a lot," says the young man who will most certainly continue using his energy capsules for as long as they do him good.
Why does Q10 help?Several published studies have shown a relation between reduced levels of the energy-enhancing nutrient, coenzyme Q10, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like compound that enables the powerhouses (mitochondria) of the body’s cells to produce energy by converting fat, carbohydrate, and protein into ATP (a molecule that stores energy inside the cell). In studies, coenzyme Q10 has been shown to
Bio-Quinone Q10 from Pharma Nord is a widely used Q10 supplement that is often recommended by physicians because of its reliable quality. The ICQA (International Coenzyme Q10 Association), an organization that organizes all Q10 research worldwide, has officially chosen Bio-Quinone Q10 as its reference product (gold standard) because of the outstanding documentation of bio-availability, safety, and quality. Bio-Quinone Q10 is documented in more than 80 published studies. |
What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)In a lot of ways, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is like the flu. It includes symptoms such as
In contrast to the flu, however, CFS is a permanent state and therefore an entirely different matter. There is currently no cure for CFS. The goal of treatment is to relieve symptoms. Many people with CFS have depression and other psychological disorders that may improve with treatment. |
